Privacy Policy

Your training and nutrition data belongs to you

GymWise stores the account details, gyms, machines, routines, workout logs, nutrition logs, measurements, preferences, and photos you choose to provide so the service can work across your devices. Foods already logged in a meal remain historical snapshots and are not rewritten when a catalogue food changes.

Photos and health information

Profile, gym, machine, progress, and food-label photos are optional. Progress photos are private. Food contribution photos remain protected while pending and are shown to administrators for review. Approved product and nutrition-label photos may become visible in the shared GymWise food catalogue.

If you explicitly connect Apple Health or Health Connect, GymWise can read supported workout summaries and write completed workouts using the permissions you select. Manual tracking remains available without health access. GymWise does not use health information for advertising.

Location services

GymWise uses Google Maps Platform to help members find and confirm public gym records. Use of those features is subject to the Google Privacy Policy. GymWise keeps the selected Google Place ID and the gym information you confirm to reduce duplicate community records.

Community information

Private gyms and personal food edits remain tied to your account. Approved gym, machine, food, and supporting product-photo contributions may be visible to other GymWise members and may be corrected, merged, or retained in anonymized form after account deletion to preserve a trustworthy shared catalogue. Personal machine settings, workout history, meal history, measurements, and private photos are not part of a community directory.

External food sources

GymWise may show attributed fallback results from USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts. GymWise does not silently treat those external records as verified GymWise catalogue entries; member-submitted packaging evidence is reviewed before a shared GymWise record is approved.

Your controls

• Change or revoke health permissions in device settings.
• Correct or delete workout and meal records.
• Keep a food correction private or submit it for community review.
• Export a copy of your GymWise data, including your food submissions.
• Permanently delete your account from Profile.
